Lovely little hotel which felt like a beach stay. The pool was fantastic and just outside our door. They had a bar on the same level and a laundry room costing $6 for a wash or dryer. Staff were pleasant.

Just had 5 nights there and it is very good. Pool is a good size and is very clean, all staff - Jan on reception - Jack & Dale in the bar - the room cleaning ladies - Lorenzo in downstairs bar - everyone was great. Rooms not huge but certainly adequate. Flinders St "used to be" the main street of T-Ville but has died - a lot of premises empty - but it an easy walk across the river to Palmer St - pubs, restaurants, cafes, yacht club etc - also an easy walk around corner to Magnetic Island Ferry and The Strand (more pubs and restaurants etc). The Strand area is prob a 15-20 min stroll. Also the Flinders St Wharves bar is right opposite the hotel. Cowboys Leagues Club and Woollies short walk along same street. Museum of Tropic Qld about 50 mtrs away.

We had the most beautiful night at Rambutan Townsville. The atmosphere was vibrant but still relaxed, with a great mix of tropical resort vibes and city energy. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional from the moment we arrived.
The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. Even with dietary preferences, the team were accommodating and made sure we were looked after. Service was well-paced and organised, which made the whole experience feel seamless.
Overall, it was a fantastic evening out and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for date nights, special occasions or just when you want something a little extra.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel, it was honestly one of the highlights of our travels through Queensland. Even though the room was quite small (which we knew when booking), it was incredibly comfortable and thoughtfully designed. The mattresses and pillows were excellent, and we slept so well every night. The pool area is amazing, our two kids absolutely loved it, and for us as parents, enjoying drinks by the pool felt like a real holiday treat. The pizza was fantastic, the salad was fresh and delicious, and overall the food was just awesome. The interior design is super stylish and gives the whole place such a relaxed, beautiful holiday vibe. The receptionist greeted us so warmly, which immediately made us feel welcome. The location is perfect, with everything close by, great food spots and plenty to do. Parking is a bit tricky to find at first, but once you do, it’s easy and convenient, and having it included is a big plus. We enjoyed our stay so much and would definitely come back.

I enjoyed my stay here. The pool / dining area is lovely and the hotel is centrally located. Clean rooms, easy parking, great food - the pizzas are excellent - good internet and a chill atmosphere. This is the place I've chosen to stay whenever I come to Townsville.

We had our wedding reception at rambutan, as a canape style in the street front Cafe. All the staff were amazing, not only on the night but also the lead up. They did everything to make the night what we pictured. Their communication in the lead up was professional and prompt, which made organising everything super easy. We can not thank all the staff enoguh especially Fillipo, Leica and Inna. The venue itself is a convenient location, has great atmosphere and we love the food (especially the pizzas). We could not be happier with how the night went and we would definitely have another event at Rambutan!

Had an amazing stay at the rambutan resort! Best food (such good prices) and service! We had housekeeping come by on the daily which was great and kept our room clean. All the rooms are right near the pool and rooftop bar, which is so convenient and creates such a nice ambience. The resort is situated near everything - shops, the strand and restaurants and cafes. The manager Dale is so friendly and accomodating along with all the other staff!! We will definitely be back!!

I was well impressed. I stopped in for a quick bite in between meetings. I’m not from the area. Great atmosphere. Super friendly staff and their lunch special $15 rump steak was great. Better than the $40 dollar steak I had the night before somewhere else. I’ll be back next time I’m in Townsville guys.

Reception (Elena) is of positive disposition, friendly and happy to answer questions. Service gladly brought my bag to my room as I needed to be elsewhere. A convenient location close to amenities/stores with a nice breeze along with outdoor setting.

Nice, comfortable stay here in Townsville. Car parking round the back and lift access to the hotel. Rooms around a pool area and loungers and booths. Restaurant serves delicious food with various offers most nights.
There is a separate bar on the ground level .

Rambutan resort Townsville is located in the heart of City Center. It's close to everything, Museum, Ferry station, restaurants. It has a swimming pool as well.

A self-patking is free of charge and easy to get to your room with a lift.
The reception staff are amazing, I forgot to take my bag when I checked out, and they ringed me for asking how to deal with and they helped me to post my bag to home as I require.

It's a really pleasant hotel to lodge with during a visit to Townsville and make our travelling unforgettable.

Had the filo night dinner with my kids. Reception downstair was very welcoming. Staff upstairs are always helpful. We enjoyed our dinner. My daughter commented “this is great dinner”. I never heard her say that even on a fine dining set. Foods are great servings are huge. They will fill the middle section first so no one is left alone and segregated. At first I did not like it as I am one of that introvert person, however as my family came by. I kinda actually liked the atmosphere and as how the staff thought about the positioning well. The guy server has always been great. Unsure if he’s the main bartender or the manager. I hope he gets paid good.

This property is crazy good value for a 5-star hotel and it definitely delivers on that claim.

Plentiful amenities and charming rooms. Cafe on the ground floor and restaurant located on top, all the food I had was tasty, staff are great.

The only downside I could think of is probably noise as the pool, rooftop restaurant and rooms are on the same level. My room's door was steps away from the restaurant, however when I was there it was only open in the evening until about 10pm so it wasn't a huge issue.

Ideal location if you are planning to visit Magnetic Island or transiting though the Breakwater Terminal.

Definitely consider staying here! Absolute gem of a place.

A big shout out to all the staff at Rambutan in Townsville for making our night so special when I took my girlfriend out to dinner. Huge thanks especially to Dale, the manager on duty. It was our first time there, and he made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. Dale ran the place effortlessly, gave us great food recommendations, and even shared some awesome tips on things to do in the area. The service was fantastic all around, and we’ll definitely be back! Oh, and the views from the bar? Not bad at all! Highly recommend checking this place out. Thanks again, Dale and the Rambutan team!

I loved my stay absolutely amazing. Great friendly staff nothing was an issue, food was delicious with daily lunch and dinner specials, location was great and if we needed to we just grabbed a scooter, we stayed 9 nights and never had an issue with noise we had an early flight into Townsville and we were able to check in as soon as the room was ready will definitely stay here again when we return next year.

Booked a 21st bday function on RH Balcony and would definitely go there again. Great email communication and nothing was too much trouble. Happily stored cake until we were ready. The highlight was the separate location and bar for guests, views and incredible canapes, pizzas and sliders.

The rooms are standard, but cleaned everyday. What we liked the most is the atmosphere of the rooftop restaurant near the pool and the street restaurant for the breakfast. The staff has been great at the reception, at the restaurant and that the bar. A special thanks to the very nice young Italian waiter (sorry I did not remember his name) who has been so helpful! The other thing we liked much is the topical evenings at the restaurant. We tried Philippino, Mexican and Oyster evenings. Very reasonable prices, good value, good vibe in the restaurant and excellent staff (I insist on that!!), so that we did not visit any other restaurant in Townsville!!

Excellent value for money. Great location with undercover security parking. 24 hr reception. Rooms are basic but cover all your needs. Wifi was excellent. Worked all the time as they should. Located in the city area just a 5min walk to the city square. Very good restaurant with daily specials such as $15 300g rump steak with chips and salad.
Will definitely stay here again.

I would highly recommend a long stay at this property.
I recently stayed here for a week and have to highly commend all the staff on their efforts to make my stay exceptional.
I fractured my leg and ended up on crutches. Nothing was a problem for them from reception to bar and restaurant service.
Messages to reception, room service if wanted, extra supplies for room and rooms cleaned daily. Nothing was an issue.
Once again I would love to thank you all and look forward to seeing you same time next year.

Loved the staff and location of this hidden gem. Pool and poolside Bar restaurant was fabulous and well priced with nightly specials. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels each day. My only whinge would be the how thin the wall seems to be. We could hear noises from all around most nights (not just weekends) but earplugs did help.

Went for dinner and drinks on a Friday night. Lovely ambience in the rooftop bar. Yummy food and nice service with a smile. We had 4 entrees , mocktails and pizza, and food was delicious. Recommend a visit to those visiting Townsville.

This hotel went above my expectations! From the photos it looked very nice but I didn't realise it had a rooftop bar and restaurant. The room were just as the photos and description, the pool was amazing to relax after a day of walking and very comfortable with chairs and cushions, and the bar and restaurant was an excellent addition. We really enjoyed the dinner specials at really affordable prices and very generous portions! Drink prices were great too, and they even give you a voucher if you consume a main meal at the restaurant 🙂 All staff from reception to the bar were super friendly and attentive, and they really made us feel very comfortable. You can stay at the hotel after check out and use the facilities until you leave, which we really appreciated as our flight was not until 8 pm. Rooms and common areas were super clean, bed was comfy and shower was good. Rooftop had a nice view of the river and main street. Location was good for us as we arrived from the ferry and was a short walk, but it can feel a bit far from the main bits of the Strand if you don't have a car.
The only thing I didn't fully enjoy is that the room feels a bit small and since the windows look to the hallway, you need to have the blinds closed if you want to turn the lights on. The bathroom configuration was a bit odd as well with the shower and toilet are completely enclosed. I'd have liked to have a little sofa or something were to sit with a table (that wasn't a desk/chair). However this was a minor detail for us as we didn't spend much time in the room.

All in all I'd definitely recommend!

Nice boutique hotel. Clean rooms and very cool having a rooftop bar. The woodfired pizzas are nice and they have cabana by the pool where they will serve you food and drink if you are a guest. The cabanas could do with a bit of a clean as I guess they get wet all the time and the TV in the room didn't work or allow you to cast your own entertainment; staff said they had not all been set up properly.
Would stay again. Nice place to relax.
